Recognising the need for consistent, high-quality specialised training, CFA Rescue Brigades train and perform rescues all across Victoria. Brigade volunteers use their skills to perform basic and complex rescue scenarios
ensuring their communities stay protected.

When severe flooding hit regional Victoria in 2022, CFA mobilised a specialist team of rescue operators to support working with SES units with evacuations, and community support. Volunteers worked side by side with SES and local councils to ensure residents were safe and critical infrastructure was protected.
When road crashes occur involving a vehicle/vehicles, CFA Rescue operators coordinate relocation and recovery plans if needed, and sometimes using advanced winching techniques and safety protocols, crews are on scene quickly, enabling air and mobile paramedics to reach patients faster and minimising further risk to the community.
